I’d love to give 5* but giving 4* as I was initially assigned a newly hired employee as my case manager after signing the contract with Akbar.

This new employee was late to viewings, overall just stood around just letting me conduct the viewing once he arrived, and caused a lot of miscommunication over email. He seemed to have been let go or reassigned within a month or two of this. Additionally, there were a lot of situations early on where Paul Simon employees were not talking to each other and would constantly make the same enquiries to me when I had already informed them i.e. asking me for keys when I had already handed them over.

Once this employee was removed the service I’d say can be 5*. New employees are a hit and miss I know but as a new customer of Paul Simon I felt it was a very bad first impression. Ecem who was assigned after was very good.

Paul Simon were great throughout the process of buying our first property. Ecem was especially very friendly and efficient and we would be happy to use their services again.

I had a shocking experience helping a friend deal with Abdul who was selling her house at Paul Simon and would strongly warn anyone thinking of working with him. She called me in tears and shaking, unable to talk on the moving out day and I suspect I may have got there in time to prevented her from killing herself in desperation. I would describe him dishonest, argumentative, abusive and a bully. I have other words but they are not appropriate here. You have been warned.

In response to the reply by Paul Simon, my review related to way Abdul spoke to me personally when I was trying to help him, which was frankly rude and unpleasant. This is a personal experience I have every right to report honestly. I explained to Abdul very politely that my friend had made a very amicable agreement with the buyer to remain in the flat for a short period in order to clean up and that permission had been given in writing. His response was obstinate, argumentative, uncooperative and disrespectful and I was quite shocked. I had up to that point thought that my friend had been exaggerating about him but she apparently had not. She also told me that she had rung the office to thank the other staff for being helpful. A simple apology would have sufficed, but apparently not something Abdul considered.

We have bought our new home with Paul Simon. We were under a huge pressure as our previous purchase was falling through after 7 months of conveyance with the concrete risk of loosing our buyers. We had to find an alternative quickly and make sure that the conveyance this time went fast and smoothly. Akbar managed to quickly arrange the view of the property. We made an offer the same day of the viewing and needed to be accepted that same day to hope to not lose our buyers. Akbar had quickly liaised with the sellers explaining our circumstances and our offer was accepted straight away. After 12 weeks we were able to complete. Thank you Akbar of your assistance in the purchase of our home!

Paul Simon Estate Agents as a business were excellent. In particular, Mr Akbar Ali who kept me informed at all times of the marketing, viewings arranged and the subsequent sale of the property. The viewings were always attended by someone at the firm. He continued to “manage” even after the sale price was agreed, as we headed towards exchange and completion.

Can’t fault them in any way. Professional, courteous, informed in terms of local knowledge.
